8 Benefits of Tantalizing Turmeric

Turmeric comes out with many benefits and I am going to here discuss some of the most important benefits of turmeric. I would be to the point.

8 Benefits of Tantalizing Turmeric

1. Turmeric Contains Bio active Compounds With Powerful Medicinal Properties

Turmeric is the spice that gives curry its yellow color.
It has been used in India for thousands of years as a spice and medicinal herb.

Recently, science has started to back up what the Indians have known for a long time… it really does contain compounds with medicinal properties.

These compounds are called curcuminoids, the most important of which is curcumin.

Curcumin is the main active ingredient in turmeric. It has powerful anti-inflammatory effects and is a very strong antioxidant.

2. Curcumin is a Natural Anti-Inflammatory Compound

Inflammation is incredibly important.

It helps the body fight foreign invaders and also has a role in repairing damage.

Without inflammation, pathogens like bacteria could easily take over our bodies and kill us.

Although acute (short-term) inflammation is beneficial, it can become a major problem when it is chronic (long-term) and inappropriately deployed against the body’s own tissues.

It is now believed that chronic, low-level inflammation plays a major role in almost every chronic, Western disease. This includes heart disease, cancer, metabolic syndrome, Alzheimer’s and various degenerative conditions.

Therefore, anything that can help fight chronic inflammation is of potential importance in preventing and even treating these diseases.

It turns out that curcumin is strongly anti-inflammatory, it is so powerful that it matches the effectiveness of some anti-inflammatory drugs.

Curcumin actually targets multiple steps in the inflammatory pathway, at the molecular level.

3. Turmeric Dramatically Increases The Antioxidant Capacity of The Body

Oxidative damage is believed to be one of the mechanisms behind aging and many diseases.

It involves free radicals, highly reactive molecules with unpaired electrons.

Free radicals tend to react with important organic substances, such as fatty acids, proteins or DNA.

The main reason antioxidants are so beneficial, is that they protect our bodies from free radicals.

Curcumin happens to be a potent antioxidant that can neutralize free radicals due to its chemical structure.

But curcumin also boosts the activity of the body’s own antioxidant enzymes.

4. Curcumin Boosts Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor, Linked to Improved Brain Function and a Lower Risk of Brain Diseases

The neurons are capable of forming new connections, but in certain areas of the brain, they can also multiply and increase in number.

One of the main drivers of this process is Brain-Derived

Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF), which is a type of growth hormone that functions in the brain.

Many common brain disorders have been linked to decreased levels of this hormone. This includes depression and Alzheimer’s disease.

Interestingly, curcumin can increase brain levels of BDNF.

By doing this, it may be effective at delaying or even reversing many brain diseases and age-related decreases in brain function.

5. Curcumin Leads to Various Improvements That Should Lower Your Risk of Heart Disease

Heart disease is the biggest killer in the world.

It has been studied for many decades and researchers have learned a lot about why it happens.

It turns out that heart disease is incredibly complicated and there are various things that contribute to it.

Curcumin may help reverse many steps in the heart disease process.

Perhaps the main benefit of curcumin when it comes to heart disease, is improving the function of the endothelium, which is the lining of the blood vessels.

It is well known that endothelial dysfunction is a major driver of heart disease and involves an inability of the endothelium to regulate blood pressure, blood clotting and various other factors.

Several studies suggest that curcumin leads to improvements in endothelial function. One study shows that is as effective as exercise, another shows that it works as well as the drug Atorvastatin.

But curcumin also reduces inflammation and oxidation (as discussed above), which are also important in heart disease.

6. Turmeric Can Help Prevent (And Perhaps Even Treat) Cancer

Cancer is a terrible disease, characterized by uncontrolled growth of cells.

There are many different forms of cancer, but they do have several commonalities, some of which appear to be affected by curcumin supplementation.

Researchers have been studying curcumin as a beneficial herb in cancer treatment. It can affect cancer growth, development and spread at the molecular level.

Studies have shown that it can reduce angiogenesis (growth of new blood vessels in tumors), metastasis (spread of cancer), as well as contributing to the death of cancerous cells.

7. Curcumin May be Useful in Preventing and Treating Alzheimer’s Disease

Alzheimer’s disease is the most common neurodegenerative disease in the world and a leading cause of dementia.

Unfortunately, no good treatment is available for Alzheimer’s yet.

Therefore, preventing it from showing up in the first place is of utmost importance.

There may be good news on the horizon, because curcumin has been shown to cross the blood-brain barrier.

It is known that inflammation and oxidative damage play a role in Alzheimer’s disease. As we know, curcumin has beneficial effects on both.

8. Arthritis Patients Respond Very Well to Curcumin Supplementation

Arthritis is a common problem in Western countries.

There are several different types, but most involve some sort of inflammation in the joints.

Given that curcumin is a potent anti-inflammatory, it makes sense that it could help with arthritis. Several studies show this to be true.

In a study of patients with rheumatoid arthritis, curcumin was even more effective than an anti-inflammatory drug.

Many other studies have looked at the effects of curcumin on arthritis and noted improvements in various symptoms.

Childhood Obesity: Causes, Effects and Prevention

“It’s not obesity. It’s just that my awesomeness is swelling inside me.”

“Obese people are harder to kidnap!”

No matter what the obese ones say as an excuse to not reducing to normal body weight, the fact remains that they are obese and at risk of various diseases.

Childhood obesity or overweight refers to the condition of the child’s body when his body is in excess compared the weight that is considered normal for a particular height, age and sex mostly because of excessive intake of calories.

The right calculation is done according to the widely accepted BMI index measurement.

BMIMEANING
<19Underweight
19-25Normal
25-30Overweight
Above 30Obese

To calculate your BMI, divide your weight (kgs) with your height (m) squared i.e.  and match your condition from the table.

SOME JAW DROPPING STATISTICS:

Childhood Obesity: Obesity Statistics

According to cdc.gov, children in the age group 6-19 years who are obese in the US have tripled since 1970’s.

According to Childhood Obesity Foundation, in 2013, over 42 million infants and young children were obese and overweight worldwide.

According to webmd.com, 1 out of every 3 children in the US is under either overweight or obese.

CAUSES OF OBESITY

Hormonal Factors

Childhood Obesity: obesity caused by hormonal factors

This cause is one of the rarest causes.

Genetic factors

Childhood Obesity: obesity caused by genetic factors

Although not a direct contributing factor, genes can contribute somewhere from 40% to 70% in development of obesity.

Screen Exposure for Long Hours

Childhood Obesity: obesity caused by screen exposure

Today’s generation kids are grown up with technology. They are so overwhelmed with the virtual world of social media, gaming, television shows etc. that they spend hours in front of the screen.

They spend time eating in front of the screen and are not even bothered as to how much they have eaten. They just keep on eating.

Lack of physical activity

Childhood Obesity: obesity caused by lack of physical exercise

The time for physical activity is taken by the screen! This leads to increased time of inactivity and makes you lazier and dependent on technology.

Unhealthy eating habits and patterns

Childhood Obesity: obesity caused by junk food intake

Eating junk food has become a trend. Psychological factors such as peer pressure and eating with them forces a child to buy junk food.

People are now spending more on packed food and junk food than on vegetables and fruits which are far way healthier than this junk!

Lack of Sleep

Childhood Obesity: obesity caused by lack of sleep

The lack of sleep leads to obesity. It makes you less active and lazier.

You would feel tired to do anything and would lead to increased body weight.

CONSEQUENCES AND EFFECTS

Obesity has wide-ranging effects on you. Some of them are listed here:

High cholesterol level

Impacts the physical health

High blood pressure

Diabetes

Increased risk of heart diseases

Overweight children are often bullied and teased by peers. They may become more depressed.

If it is continued till adulthood, it may lead to even more complications in health and you may be at increased risk of several other diseases including cancer.

PREVENTION

You can start since infancy. Breastfeed your child as much as you can.

You should focus on eating healthy food. One of the common mistakes is to focus on cutting down calories.

Instead of cutting on calories, you should focus on taking all nutrients and balanced diets.

The focus should be laid on spending the time of screen on physical activities.

In short, preventing all the causes of obesity should be the primary goal.

After all, Prevention is better than cure!

Stay healthy, stay fit!

10 Commitments for Spiritual Sex

Spiritual sex is important to live life cheerfully. But you need to be committed in order to achieve that spirituality by sex. I am going to discuss here 10 commitments for spiritual sex.

10 Commitments for Spiritual Sex

1. Move beyond narcissism and self-absorption

This is not a glamorous suggestion, but it is essential. Treat your partner honestly, respectfully, and kindly. It's as simple as that.

Spirituality begins in achieving a basic but difficult aspect of maturity — not being selfish.

This doesn't mean that you don't take care of yourself and have full satisfaction in your sexual life, but as the spiritual traditions consistently teach, you can't be happy if those around you are not happy.

2. Sex is a union of persons, not only bodies

You can prepare for sex by being an interesting person, bringing with you your intelligence, culture, ideas, values, and talents. It's one thing to make love with a pretty body and another to be intimate with a real person.

You can take time to talk to your partner, maybe at dinner before lovemaking. Don't be afraid to talk about the things that matter.

Letting a closely guarded thought emerge can lead to a physical sense of release. If you can't do this with your dinner partner, then your sex may not be anything special.

3. A spiritual person has a broad vision

He or she is interested in life, meaning, and the world. Vision is an aspect of transcendence and a reach beyond self. Sex usually begins and ends in conversation.

Visionary talk, in contrast to mundane and self-centered chatter, can be vital and erotic.

4. Spirituality benefits from some kind of contemplation or meditation

Lovemaking can have a contemplative quality — taking time, allowing yourself to be dreamy, giving in not only to passion but also to the timeless atmosphere of sex.

Ecstasy, a word often applied to sexual experience, means "to stand outside," and it doesn’t have to have the swoon factor that people sometimes associate with it.

Ecstasy can be a steady, calm progress to a state that is tranquil and otherworldly.

5. Sex is a ritual

A ritual is an action that speaks primarily to the heart and soul. It doesn't have much practical meaning. Some people like to justify sex by seeing it as a way to make babies or to express love.

Obviously it can do these things, but it can also be a ritual that evokes the spirituality of the relationship, long or short, casual or serious.

Therefore, the spiritual quality of sex may increase if you pay attention to its ritual aspect: timing, clothing, music, candles, setting, language.

6. Sex can be virtuous without being repressive or too clean

The great virtue in sex is generosity, the capacity to offer an abundance of feeling, intelligence, and equality to your partner.

This doesn't mean surrendering completely or giving away too much, but rather a thoughtful and moderate offering of self.

Again, this is a traditional spiritual virtue applied to the special realm of sex.

7. Sex has a lot to do with appreciating the beauty of the human body and the person.

You don't have to be a stunner or even pretty or handsome.

Fortunately, sexual passion allows us to see the beauty of the body in small elements and gestures.

Loving the person also helps, because the beauty of the personality usually gets transferred to the body.

8. Prayer takes many forms

Even the monks have said that to work is to pray.

You don't have to say formal prayers before sex, but you can bring to it such an appreciation for its power to express love and to make unions that it becomes a prayer.

9. For sex to be deeply exciting and engaging, you have to evoke the spirit of sex

The ancient Greeks and Romans had a keen awareness of the spirituality in sex, which they personified in the goddesses Aphrodite and Venus.

An old story is told of pilgrims going by boat to an island where they could venerate a statue of the naked and seductive Aphrodite.

As a muse is to an artist — a real and important source of inspiration — so this spirit is to a couple making love.

10. Spirituality involves reaching beyond the self

Sex is quite private, but a good sex life can help make a good community.

One of the results of good sex is joy, pure and simple, an antidote to the often depressive, cynical tone of modern life, with its tendency to dehumanize and make excessive demands.

When people have a joyful, positive outlook, they are capable of community.

Bliss. Love. Peace.

Hatha Yoga: Benefits

Hatha Yoga: Benefits

When you experience everything as oneness in your consciousness, then you are in yoga. To attain that unity within you, there are many ways.

You work with the body, then you move to the breath, then to the mind, then to the inner self. Like this, many steps have been created, but they are only different facets of yoga. It is important that all of them are addressed in a very balanced way, all at once, as one single unit.

There is really no division as such; yoga employs all aspects of who you are.

The body is a very large part of who you are right now. The science of using the body to hasten your evolutionary process is hatha yoga. The body itself has its own attitudes, its own ego, its own nature.

Let us say you decided, “Starting tomorrow, I will get up at five in the morning and go for a walk.”

You set the alarm. The alarm rings. You want to get up, but your body says, “Shut up and sleep.” It has its own way, doesn’t it? Hatha yoga is a way of working with the body, a way of disciplining, purifying and preparing the body for higher levels of energy and possibilities.

The Science of Hatha Yoga

Hatha yoga is not exercise.

Understanding the mechanics of the body, creating a certain atmosphere, and then using body postures to drive your energy in specific directions is what hatha yoga or yogasanas are about.

“Asana” means a “posture.” That kind of posture which allows you to reach your higher nature is a yogasana. There are other dimensions to this, but to put it in the simplest way, just by observing the way someone is sitting, you can almost know what is happening with him, if you have known him long enough.

If you have observed yourself, when you are angry, you sit one way; if you are happy, you sit another way; if you are depressed, you sit another way. For every different level of consciousness or mental and emotional situation that you go through, your body naturally tends to assume certain postures.

The converse of this is the science of asanas. If you consciously get your body into different postures, you can elevate your consciousness.

The body can become a means for your spiritual growth or it can become a major barrier. Suppose some part of your body – your hand, leg or back, for instance – is hurting. When it is hurting badly it is hard to aspire for anything higher because that becomes the biggest thing. Right now if you have a backache, the biggest thing in the universe is your backache.

Other people may not understand that, but for the person who is going through it, that is the biggest thing. Even if God appears you will ask for your backache to go! You will not ask for anything else because the physical body has such a power over you. If it is not functioning well, it can take away all other aspirations from your life.

Whatever you may fancy, all your longings just disappear once the body starts hurting – because to look beyond that takes an enormous amount of strength, which most people do not possess.

There are thousands of people who have come out of spinal problems by doing simple asanas.

Doctors had told them they would definitely have to go through a surgery, but they never had to. Your back can be restored to such an excellent condition that you will never need to go to a chiropractor. It is not only your spine that becomes flexible; you also become flexible.

Once you are flexible, you are willing to listen, not just to someone’s talk; you are willing to listen to life. Learning to listen is the essence of a sensible life.

Dedicating a certain amount of effort and time to see that the body does not become a barrier is important.

A painful body can become a major obstacle, and so can a compulsive body. Simple compulsions, whether they are about the body wanting to relieve itself or of lust, can rule you so strongly that they will not allow you to look beyond; the physical body becomes a major entity.

Body is only a part of you; it should not become the whole of you. Asanas level the body down to its natural place.

Hatha Yoga Prepares the Body

Another aspect of hatha yoga, when one wants to move into deeper dimensions of meditation, is that it allows for a higher possibility of energy. If you want your energies to surge upwards, it is very important that the pipeline of the body is conducive.

If it is blocked, it will not work, or else, something will burst.

Preparing the body sufficiently before one goes into more intense forms of meditation is very important.

Hatha yoga ensures that the body takes it gently and joyfully.

Exploring Your Subconscious Mind [Part 3]

You should be careful of our thought process and the messages that you convey to your subconscious mind.

Exploring Your Subconscious Mind

It is YOU and YOUR THOUGHTS that create your own misery or happiness through the messages you send to your subconscious mind. Your own thoughts define you.

Whatever the mind of a man can conceive and believe, the mind of a man can achieve.”-Napoleon Hill.

Whatever you see, do, feel, think or believe; all are sent to your subconscious mind. All of us have heard that in our whole lifetime we use only 10% of our brain! What if we increase this?

Exploring Your Subconscious Mind | 10% brain/mind use

That is where your subconscious mind will come into the picture and would make you a person that you want to be. It would create what you feed into it.

And the only thing to learn is how to use your subconscious mind to make it do anything for you. If you lack this ability to utilise your subconscious mind then you would end up spending the whole of your life with the same desires and yearnings embedded in your heart that would never be fulfilled.

You can’t control your negative thoughts. What you can control is your reaction to them

If you are affirmative in your thoughts and don’t let negativity discourage you, then your subconscious mind would help you in ways that you can’t possibly imagine!

Now, the much-awaited question:

How exactly to make your subconscious work for you?

First of all, define exactly what you intend to desire.

Say, you should not say that you want a lot of money. That’s absolute rubbish.

Why?

Because you need to fix a defined quantity of bucks that you intend to earn before a particular deadline set by you.
(However, remember that your goals should be realistic and that sky is the limit).

Now that you have defined your desires, have that faith in you that you will achieve your desires. The subconscious works when repetitive verbal statements are given to it and repetitive thought are polished.

Hence, say out aloud twice each and every single day that “I, [your full name], will achieve [your desire] before [your defined deadline].”

Never ever doubt what you are saying and stay positive. Feel and believe that you have already possessed your desire and live by that belief.

And leave the rest of the things to your subconscious mind. As a result, it will give you the best idea suited to achieve your desire and would enable you to lay a well-defined path to achieve it. This power of subconscious mind is also called imagination!

And the rest is history! Yes, it’s that simple!

(This may seem simple by reading but let us see if it still seem simple if you pay a little more attention to the bolded words of this articles. Period)

Exploring Your Subconscious Mind [Part 2]

Susceptible are the memories that are given by your conscious mind whereas the perfect ones, even what happened 60 years ago with you, are revised and revealed by your subconscious to you. It consists of an infinite space and memory that can store every single incident of your life and can be retrieved by some external stimulus or hypnosis! This at any cost can’t be achieved by your conscious mind.

Exploring Your Subconscious Mind [Part 2]

Our subconscious mind is always awake till our death. It doesn’t rest for a single while.

It is affected by verbal and visual repetition.

“Whatever we plant in our subconscious mind and nourish with repetition and emotion will one day become a reality.”

What your mind believes and it’s repeatedly thought of it, it tends to give that a conscious effort after a particular time and it certainly becomes a reality (if backed by faith and imagination)! No real success has ever been achieved by the lack of faith and vision of the imagination.

REAL LIFE EXAMPLES

Let me substantiate the aforementioned points by two real life phenomenon:

Nowadays, we all encounter many advertisements here and there on the internet, TV’s, newspapers etc. and that too the same repeated ones by the companies out there. Making the public more aware of their product is a different part that they are interested in.

More importantly, they want the customers to see it again and again so that by the visual and verbal repetitions, the product would get implanted in the customer’s subconscious mind. Advertisements tend to be catchy and out of the box so as to catch the attention of the subconscious mind of the customers and hence create a space for their product in their subconscious.

That’s the power of the subconscious mind which the smart businessmen are using!

The subconscious mind also sets up a comfort zone for you in many situations. Take for example the case of the effect of music on your subconscious mind. You may recall that when you go to a nice shop you would see that a calm and soothing music is being played.

Researchers have shown that music has the power to affect a person’s mood via subconscious.

Exploring Your Subconscious Mind | Real Life

The music a comfort zone for you and you end up spending more time in the shop because you don’t want to go out of your comfort zone and end up buying more things that eventually increase sales of the owner!

Hence, a realisation is the key that will curb off the negative thinking from your mind. Once you realise the power of your subconscious mind (I hope by now you have), you will stop negative thinking because somehow or the other, the ideas of security, fear and failure would develop into your subconscious mind and we can’t afford to do that repeatedly if we really want success.

Mark my words as I say, “A fearful mind can never achieve outstanding feats.

So, I hope that by far you would have realised that subconscious mind is a mind of wisdom. 95% decisions are made subconsciously by us.

The conscious one may give at times foolish ideas but the more powerful subconscious one would bring out ideas from nowhere and that too very exciting and useful ones.

Often, the sound of soul, as we say, refers to the subconscious decisions. The will power and creativity is controlled by the subconscious mind.

Change your thinking, change your mind, and change your life! The choice is yours to choose the right path. May the best decision be taken subconsciously :)

Exploring Your Subconscious Mind [Part-1]

Ages have been spent in understanding our mind. Certain theories and explanation have been drafted to comment upon the working of this mysterious organ. Here, we have started a series to explore, understand and how to use your subconscious mind in your everyday life. This one mainly deals with an introductory part.

Exploring Your Subconscious Mind

Our brain is believed to be functioned of by three different minds: conscious, subconscious and unconscious.

Conscious Mind

It is the present mind, the mind that makes you aware of the present moment. The voluntary action that you take by analytical thinking is governed by the subconscious mind.

Subconscious Mind

It is the pool of information that is embedded in your mind by repeated encounters or due to a mysterious and unusual appearance of anything. Your mind senses it and stores it and retrieves it whenever necessary by a certain amount of trigger. For example, you remember the frequently used contacts, the path to your home, a distinct childhood memory, déjà vu etc.

“Your subconscious mind is 30000 times more powerful than your conscious mind.”

We would be discussing its power in the coming articles!

Unconscious Mind

It consists of your past memories that are somewhere in your mind deep inside and is very difficult to access. Your behaviour may reflect the childhood memories and experiences that are developed over a period of time but you know only the vague expression of the memory and you would require a very strong trigger to recall those memories.

It would be all for today. We would discuss the power of your subconscious mind and how it helps you achieve what you want in coming articles.

The Benefits of Capacious Corn

Health benefits of corn include controlling diabetes, prevention of heart ailments, lowering hypertension and prevention of neural-tube defects at birth. Corn or maize is one of the most popular cereals in the world and forms the staple food in many countries, including the United States and many African countries.

The Benefits of Capacious Corn

The kernels of corn are what hold the majority of corn’s nutrients, and are the most commonly consumed parts of the vegetable. The kernels can come in multiple colours, depending on where the corn is grown and what species or variety they happen to be. Another genetic variant, called sweet corn, has more sugar and less starch in the nutritive material.

Nutritional Value Of Corn

Corn not only provides the necessary calories for healthy, daily metabolism but is also a rich source of vitamin A, vitamin B, vitamin E and many minerals. Its high fibre content ensures that it plays a significant role in the prevention of digestive ailments like constipation and haemorrhoid as well as colorectal cancer. The antioxidants present in corn also act as anti-carcinogenic agents and prevent Alzheimer’s disease.

Nutritional Value of Corn

Health Benefits Of Corn

Corn provides many health benefits due to the presence of quality nutrients within. Besides being a delicious addition to any meal, it is also rich in phytochemicals, and it provides protection against a number of chronic diseases.  Some of the well-researched and widespread health benefits of corn are listed below.

Rich source of calories: Corn is a rich source of calories and is a staple among dietary habits in many populations. The calorific content of corn is 342 calories per 100 grams, which is among the highest for cereals.

It is why corn is often turned to for quick weight gain, and combined with the ease and flexibility of growing conditions for corn, the high-calorie content makes it vital for the survival of dozens of agricultural-based nations.

Reduces risk of haemorrhoid and colorectal cancer: The fibre content of one cup of corn amounts to 18.4% of the daily recommended amount. This aids in alleviating digestive problems such as constipation and haemorrhoid, as well as lowering the risk of colon cancer due to corn being a whole-grain.

Fibre has long been promoted as a way to reduce colon risk, but insufficient and conflicting data exist for fibre’s relationship with preventing cancer, although whole-grain consumption, on the whole, has been proven to reduce that risk.

Fibre helps to bulk up bowel movements, which stimulates peristaltic motion and even stimulates the production of gastric juice and bile. It can also add bulk to overly loose stools, which can slow reduce the chances of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and diarrhoea.

Rich source of vitamins: Corn is rich in vitamin B constituents, especially Thiamin and Niacin.

Thiamin is essential for maintaining nerve health and cognitive function. Niacin deficiency leads to

Pellagra; a disease characterised by diarrhoea, dementia and dermatitis that is commonly observed in malnourished individuals. Corn is also a good source of Pantothenic acid, which is an essential vitamin for carbohydrate, protein, and lipid metabolism in the body.

Deficiency of folic acid in pregnant women can lead to the birth of underweight infants and may also result in neural tube defects in newborns. Corn provides a large percentage of the daily folate requirement, while the kernels of corn are rich in vitamin E, a natural antioxidant that is essential for growth and protection of the body from illness and disease.

Antioxidant properties: According to studies carried out at Cornell University, corn is a rich source of antioxidants which fight cancer-causing free radicals. In fact, unlike many other foods, cooking actually increases the number of usable antioxidants in sweet corn.

Corn is a rich source of a phenolic compound called ferulic acid, an anticarcinogenic agent that has been shown to be effective in fighting the tumours which lead to breast cancer as well as liver cancer.

Anthocyanins, found in purple corn, also act as scavengers and eliminators of cancer-causing free radicals. Antioxidants have been shown to reduce many of the most dangerous forms of cancer because of their ability to induce apoptosis in cancerous cells while leaving healthy cells unaffected.

This is particularly relevant when phytochemicals are the source of the antioxidants, which is another type of chemical found in high volumes in corn.

Protecting Your Heart: According to researchers, corn oil has been shown to have an anti-atherogenic effect on cholesterol levels, thus reducing the risk of various cardiovascular diseases.

Corn oil, particularly, is the best way to increase heart health, and this is derived from the fact that corn is close to an optimal fatty acid combination.

This allows omega-3 fatty acids to strip away the damaging “bad” cholesterol and replace them at the binding sites. This will reduce the chances of arteries becoming clogged, will reduce blood pressure, and decrease the change of heart attack and stroke.

Prevents Anemia: Corn helps to prevent anaemia caused by the deficiency of these vitamins. Corn also has a significant level of iron, which is one of the essential minerals needed to form new red blood cells; a deficiency in iron is one of the main cause of anaemia as well.

Controls diabetes and hypertension: In recent decades, the world has seemed to suffer from an epidemic of diabetes. Although the exact mechanism for this cannot be pinpointed, it is generally assumed to relate to nutrition.

Eating more organic fruits and vegetables, like corn, has been thought to be a return to an older style of diet, and it has been linked to reduced signs of diabetes.

Studies have shown that the consumption of corn kernels assists in the management of non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM) and is effective against hypertension due to the presence of phenolic phytochemicals in whole corn.

Phytochemicals can regulate the absorption and release of insulin in the body, which can reduce the chance of spikes and drops for diabetic patients and help them maintain a more normal lifestyle.

Cosmetic benefits: Corn starch is used in the manufacturing of many cosmetic products and may also be applied topically to soothe skin rashes and irritation. Corn products can be used to replace carcinogenic petroleum products which are major components of many cosmetic preparations. Many of the traditional skin creams contain petroleum jelly as a base material, which can often block pores and make skin conditions even worse.

A Few Words of Warning:

Corn does contain large amounts of fatty acid, so for people who are already at high risk for heart disease, excess corn or corn oil can dangerously exacerbate those conditions and risks.

Also, corn is frequently turned into high fructose corn syrup, which is extracted from corn to use as a cheap sweetener.

It is worse than table sugar and is a cause of obesity, as well as having a negative impact on your blood sugar levels.

It is found in many artificially sweetened foods and syrups, so avoid these if you want to only get the positive benefits of corn.

Corn is a rich source of many essential nutrients and fibre. A meal rich in corn can go a long way in protecting against many diseases and ailments. So start shucking!

5 Ways: How to Keep Your Heart Healthy and Hale

The heart is a vital organ of your body and it also needs its time and care.

How to Keep Your Heart Healthy and Hale: 5 Ways

As usual, without wasting any more time, I am going to share with you guys 5 ways to have a nice and healthy heart of yours:

1. Exercises for Your Heart

How to keep Your Heart Healthy: Exercises for Your Heart

Spiritual and Sacred Sex

Sex is sacred...

Spiritual and Sacred Sex

Wait a minute. Isn’t sex nasty, dirty, even forbidden? Isn’t sex best with the person you’re not supposed to have it with? I mean isn’t the naughtiness of sex one of the reasons it’s intoxicating in the first place?

There is an allure in breaking the rules. But it’s actually pretty lonely being an outlaw. Isn’t sex also supposed to be about an intimate connection?

The biggest misconception about sex is that it’s forbidden or wrong. In truth, sex is sacred.

As pure cosmic energy, sex is a physical act that provides a direct connection to the divine. I think we’ve been going about it the wrong way for a very long time.

Sexual, spiritual, and creative energy are really all parts of one whole. If you are expressed creatively, you are going to be expressed sexually. If you are in the flow of expressive sex, then you know that

God must have a hand in it. And creativity is about spiritual communion.

Sex is a core function of humanity. It plays a huge role in the physical health and vitality of the body.

Abuse and overuse of sex, as with any addiction, affects those things negatively.

Sex is also an immense, universal force that can merge your spirit (your divine essence) with your body. Sex is involution (spirit descending) and evolution (physical ascending) meeting at the heart in an explosion of pure love.

But to fully experience sex in this divine way, we have to engage in it in a divine forum.

Yes, this is completely counter to what our culture presents as the experience of sex. In modern society, sex is completely externally focused. It’s an objectification of form, mired in fantasy, watched from the sidelines as “spectator” through porn, and warm, human flesh replaced by plastic.

While this widely used approach will surely produce an orgasm, it will be animalistic and short.

Experiencing sex this way takes us away from the present. The present is the only truth there really is. It takes us outside of ourselves, when, really, the holy grail — sex as communion with the soul — is a possibility that exists within us anytime, all the time.

If orgasms are so easy to get (which, for most of us, they are), why is this the most coveted experience in modern-day culture? Because we seek this connection with the divine. Because it allows us to transcend ourselves in a way no other experience does.

We know there is the potential for sex to be transformational and life-changing. But did you know that that feeling can be sustained in your own heart and expressed as compassion for all beings?

Let’s start at the beginning. What if sex, experienced as sacred, could open a field of intimacy in your relationship with your lover that you never knew existed?

We’ve been expecting way too little of sex for a very long time. It’s a massively powerful energy.

And it has more potential than we realise to be a force for the amazing in our lives.

Feeling guilty or embarrassed? Please don’t. Sex is fantastic, wonderful, amazing, natural, wild, erotic, and awesome. In my opinion, with consenting partners and within the realms of both people’s boundaries, sex should occur freely.

Let’s grant us a pass for anything that happened in the past involving porn or fantasy.

Now, let’s step into sexiness in a whole new way. Being fully in the moment during sex means having a total awareness of our being right now.

STEPS FOR SACRED SEX

Steps for Spiritual Sex

#1. Recognise that we are spiritual beings having a human experience — that you were created from a divine blueprint.

#2. Accept that if you are a divine expression of this force, your partner is too.

(Yes, that person who annoys you and challenges you to no end.) Expand your understanding and surrender all judgment of the person God has provided as your soul mate.

#3. Decide to see your partner as divine.

Embrace the act of sex as worship of your partner and a sacred representation of the divine — no matter how different you imagine these things to be. You get out of it what you put into it. Exercise your devotion muscle. Fake it till you make it.

By holding this highest vision for your partner, you will be loving them into their best expression of their divine design. This is truly the divine principle in action. Yes, you are a healer now.

#4. Create the environment in which sacred sex can blossom.

Engage the senses. Find a soft, beautiful blanket that is only for union with your beloved. Sprinkle rose petals around the space. Light candles and play music. I recommend getting a drone sound from an app for a neutral backdrop that encourages healing and a spiritual vibe.

#5. Prepare your body.

A shower or bathe — cleanliness is essential to meet the divine.

Adorn your body with oils, style your hair, wear makeup that makes you feel your best, and even put on jewellery if it makes you feel more spiritually centred. Wear a piece of clothing sacred to this space, this act — a robe, a slip, or something else you feel prepares your body and spirit to meet.

#6. When you are both ready, enter into the circle of rose petals.

Join your third eyes together, breathing for six inhales and six exhales.

#7. Take turns anointing each other with essential oil of sandalwood and rose.

Place the oil on each other’s crown, third eye, heart space, and genitals.

#8. Now, open yourself up to exploring sexual intimacy however you feel moved to do so.

Let every session be unique and distinct unto itself. Practice looking into each other’s eyes. Stay in the feeling of each moment. Drop into the visceral feeling of this experience.

#9. When you climax, practice drawing that energy into your heart.

Feel the orgasm release (evolution) and simultaneously draw that bliss into your heart (involution).

#10. Visualize you and your partner joined inside a three-dimensional six-pointed star.

#11. Finally, share thoughts and feelings on your experience in the afterglow.

Laugh about your challenges with this new approach and enjoy the expanded experience of your intimacy.

Peace, Om, Shanti...!!

Revealed: The Habits of Successful People

Revealed: The Habits of Successful People

“We are what we repeatedly do. Greatness then is not an act, but a habit.”
                                                                                                        -Aristotle

The first and foremost thing is that if you want to be successful, you should start reading. It is the most common characteristics that they embed in themselves. Reading makes you aware of different kinds of knowledge and you may find a completely different kind of world. The successful people don’t become successful because of their luck but because of their constant effort to achieve their dreams. They don’t give up for the comfort of others.

“Never give up on a dream just because it is going to take time. The time would eventually pass anyway.”

They make sure that they choose what they wanted to do in their life and that they should not settle down below their means and capabilities. They have recognised the fact that living with dreams and also dying with dreams unfulfilled would never make them live satisfactorily.

They die with memories not dreams.

“Learn from the mistakes of others. You can’t live long enough to make them all yourself.”
                                                                                                                                    -Chanakya

Another common characteristic of successful people is that they wake up early. The motivation for success is enough for them to part with their bed. Waking up early makes you fresh, active and agile.
The difference between a successful person and an unsuccessful person lies in what they do in their spare time. Successful people know the value of time. They can’t afford to lose it.

Successful Habits: Invest time, don't spend it

They don’t spend their time, they invest it.

They work even when they don’t feel like doing. If you push yourself to do a job for about 10 minutes, it’s quite likely that you would end up continuing with your job and completing it.

DONATE!

Successful people know that what they give returns manifold. It is not only about donating money. You can share your time, your intelligence and your wisdom. Even a small help is appreciable.

People are not born successful they make themselves successful with whatever they know, whatever they have and whatever they are capable. But even knowing what you have and what you are capable of is also something that is not an easy task.

“Inches make champions.”
                            -Vince Lombardi

The unsuccessful person is the one who quits when he/she was close enough to success and doesn’t realise it.

They know who they are!

Just answer a simple question.

Who are you?

Note: I have not asked your name, neither your profession or your gender or relation with anything. I have just asked you who are you?

Success Habits: Chess

(Believe me, it's not that simple to answer!)
