From dawn to dusk, we are consistently gripped by various responsibilities and jobs to perform. It is quite evident that one may become stressful at times and it can have serious implications on his/her mind and body. The need to relax our mental asset, mind, is thus quite important.
To relax means to become less tense and free from anxiety.
Here I am sharing with you 6 easy steps to relax your mind:
If you identify yourself as too busy with work, then it is necessary for you to know one thing for sure. Too busy is an excuse, what we really define are priorities. If you live in a constantly working mind, then you have a high possibility of going under stress and depression. Try to admit the fact that your mind needs to relax in order to function properly. So, take out time to relax.
"The time to relax is when you don't have time for it."
I know many of you would think that it is just a waste of time. It may reflect that your level of understanding is far below to recognise the essence and benefits of meditation. Although difficult to master, but once achieved, it is worth it. Regularity in practising it is more important. It fails to help those who practice it once a blue moon. Meditating for at least 15 minutes is a must. Avoid getting tensed, frustrated or competitive while employing it. It would defeat the purpose.
When meditation is mastered, the mind is unwavering like the flame of a lamp in a windless place – BHAGAVAD GITA
Probably the easiest of all ways to relax. Take deep breaths for 2 minutes. Then inhale as much air as you can, hold on for 10 seconds and the exhale slowly. Repeat this 10 times and you will feel relaxed.
Identify your hobbies. Be it dancing, painting, singing, reading, playing or whatever it is. Taking out time for your hobbies will make you feel alive and awesome, and would encourage the release of feel-good hormones dopamine and serotonin.
Expressing yourself with pen and paper is a very nice way to feel relaxed. It even helps to enhance your imagination. It expresses your feelings, giving new thoughts and ideas. Also, It helps to let you feel light for moments and give you strength to do the next task in hand.
Keep aside your mobile phone and laptop for a while and take a hot water bath. Feel every drop of warm water falling on you and admire the smooth flow of that drop going from head to toe. Feel your body properly. Hot water falling on your head and neck will alleviate the pressure from the tensed blood vessels and you would feel pretty relaxed.
